1. Introduction : Established in 1968, Jesus & Mary College is a college with focal point on complete development of the scholars and aims to provide a healthy academic environment for them to flourish both professionally and personally. The college is run by the sisters of Jesus & Mary Congregation which instigated in France in 1818. To make God Known to young and the destitute has been another aim of JMC. With over 2400 regular students in the college, JMC is also a hub for IGNOU (the Indira Gandhi National Open University.) and Non Collegiate Women's Education Board.

Facilities : The campus sprawls over an area that extends over 14 acres with a large teaching block and separate tutorial rooms, laboratories, a multi-purpose auditorium, canteen, games rooms and a huge library with more than 40000 books and publications. There is a counseling-cum-vocational guidance cell housed in the Library. A well-equipped psychology laboratory, the computer lab, book store, a separate sports fields for football, cricket, hockey, and courts for lawn tennis and volley ball is also a part of its infrastructure.

Admission to under graduate programme depends upon the percentage of marks obtained in 10+2 or its equivalent with the cut-offs for last year being well in excess of 90% for most courses. The English department conducts an entrance test for admission to the B.A. (Hons) English courses. The college also reserves seat for students in the sports quota.

There are no hostels in this college but JMC student’s union helps students by propagating information about hostels & PG accommodation available near the college.
